SM-Semifinal
Carlstad Crusaders - Limhamn Griffins
Läs Tracey Gere's preview inför matchen.
This is a tough game to predict because our previous two games had such different outcomes. But I am pretty sure that the Limham offense is better than what we saw down in Skåne, and I believe they will have some extra players on defense this time. One thing I know is that we were very focused for the second game against Limham, and that if we can achieve that again then we will be a tough team to beat.
We have played very well offensively in both games against Limham this year. The biggest key for our offense all year has been to minimize the negative plays, because we are going to get some big plays sometime in the game. This was a weakness at the beginning of the season that is now becoming a strength. Last week against Stockholm the offense had no penalties, no sacks and 1 turnover. I expect Limham’s defense to be a little tighter than the first two games, but if we can minimize the negatives then I think we can score enough to win.
Of course, that depends on whether our defense plays as it did in the first or the second game. Repeating the second game would be pretty tough, and I am sure that Limham will play better. But this is not the same defense that gave up 42 points in the first meeting. We have athletes on the field that can cover all of their receivers and we are playing much more aggressive versus the run. Our defensive line has created pressure all year, but they have become more disciplined in their pass rush. If we can get pressure on Tanney without giving him escape routes from the pocket, something we struggled with in game 1, then I think we will do pretty well.
Probable starters:
