Saturday the Jets make the long drive north for Sunday’s game against the Republicans, the 8 game season that has encompassed a total of 15 calender weeks to get these games played.
This game has no implications for the upcoming play-offs but there is still a lot on the line for both teams. Jamtland is a team that has struggled to win games in the super series. They have had some trouble this year and will play the final game of a disappointing season on Sunday. They will also play this final game to win. We played an exciting game against Limhamn last weekend and were able to take a last second touchdown to at least secure our 4th place in the series and make the play offs.
Offensively, we will expect to adapt the offense to the defensive scheme we see. Limhamn played an entirely different package than we had expected, but the players made a quick adjustment and we were able to not only move the ball, but finally score some serious points. Our objective will be the same in Jamtland this weekend. We hope to move the ball with a good solid mixture of run game and pass game and attack what the defense gives us. Our passing game has continued to improve each week and we feel that we can pass the ball effectively and that will only be enhanced by a powerful running game.
Defensively we had a long day (as did both defenses) against Limhamn, but we made the plays we had to make to win the game. Jamtland has an explosive QB in Darnell Macklin and we will do our best to keep him in check. The defense has been hurt by big plays and will try to cut down on them to help the offense. This will be a hard task since Jamtland has a good group of skill players working under the protection from a strong offensive line.
The game plan will be to keep the offense guessing by bringing heat from all angles while also being able to drop back into coverage when needed. A rotation of players on all defensive positions to keep all fresh at all times will be necessary since Jamtland keeps you running. The Jets defense welcomes Andreas Öström back to the Dark Side. He’s an emotional leader as well as a good football player who will bring excitement to the field.
