Just wanted to thank everybody for my two years as förbundskapten. Also, I would have to thank Coach Thore for having me on the jr and sr staffs before that. It has been a great ride. A special thanks to a great group of coaches that did a great job coaching a great football team. Also, a big thanks to those around the team. Lagerborn, Hill, Cullberg, Doc, Åsa for all you all did. C for the help with my one and only video presentation for my life....you made it work thanks. Last but not least I want to thank the players. I was proud every second I was your head coach. As I said after the germany game, I would not trade anything for the time I had with this football team.
Thanks to SAFF for letting an American be HC. I know that wasn't an easy decision. But thanks for givning me a chance.
I think LL football is the best. It is the only place where you have everybody at practice, a coach for every position, and you have competition, some people make and some people don't. That makes for an excitiing brand of football. If you want to dream a little, think how good the LL team would be if there where 8-10 teams playing in the top level with full staffs and full rosters?? It would be good.
Last thought, I have seen the 2003 VM and Coached in the 2007 VM. I hear alot about speed. Yes that is true, we need more speed and when I say we I mean Europe. The problem is this, in my opinion. The States, Japan, Mexico all have High school football, college football and some sort of play after college. That means that the players are playing organized football 5-6 days a week from high school on. They are training more and practicing more. That is what we are up against. They have more time to build a better player at a younger age. What do we do to combat that?? That will make the next four years interesting...
Maybe someday I'll see you back in the blue and gold as a HC OC or a position coach...until then, Thanks again for a great ride....now I have to change another diaper...
