National Team Uniform

Hello. Sorry for not writing in your language.

About the uniform of the Swedish national team. I've seen some pictures of previous tournaments and it's hideous!, it's horrible! (and I'm being nice). It could not be worse.

I think the uniform of the National team is way too important to be left in the hands of some tasteless oficial. (I'm sure that the tasteless official in question thinks he's a great designer and had all the best intentions when he made his creation). On the video clip about the world cup at the amerikanskfotboll.com site, there's a proposed helmet to go with the uniform.

The Yellow color of the helmet: Terrible idea.

Invert the colors man! Royal blue helmet, royal blue face mask and yellow crowns! Imagine the cheese head helmet with the dominant chicken-yellow jerseys?? What's with this obsession of making the players look like Big Bird from sesame street?!

Anyway here come my 2 cents of advice:

A) Pay a professional sports design company (or a freelance pro designer) to create a uniform/image for the national team.

B) Create a contest, open to the public in which a prize is given to the winning design. (any prize, it can be something simbolic, doesn't have to be a mountain of cash). A panel decides de winner.

C) Create a contest, also open to the public, but this time the winning design is decided by popular vote.

I like A and B.

I take it, as you wrote in english, that you are not swedish.
You are talking AMERICAN football....in SWEDEN.
The country where the players have to pay to play.
Have to pay for their own tickets to Japan.

I can agree with you that the uniforms are terrible.
But the problem is not with the people picking the designs of the uniforms. The problem is paying for them.

I am sure your ideas are great, but the problem comes when it comes time for someone to pay for the new uniforms....are you willing to pay?

Hi,

Don't ger me wrong. I'm not talking about the brand of the uniforms or que quality of the fabric. I am well aware that resourses are not plentiful in Sweden.

I'm talking about the design and the choice of colors. Which in this case an ugly design and a pretty one would have costed exactly the same thing.

Now, let's assume that nobody has the money to pay a pro design firm to create a uniform. So we rule out option A.

B and C do not have to cost a single krona. Like I said the prize can be symbolic. I'm sure that even if the prize is only glory there will sure be a lot of participants and I guarantee you that there will be designs that are much better than the present one.

It's also a great way to bring the American Football comunity together and get some P.R.
