42-9 till slut. Väntad seger för Vienna och upp till SMM att bli bättre för att ta sig till final. Det är en bit kvar till de absoluta topplagen men man visar åtminstone att man hör hemma bland top 4 i Europa. Fram för fler bra svenska lag!

Zum dritten Mal in ununterbrochener Reihenfolge (und insgesamt 5.Mal) stehen die Vikings im Eurobowl Finale. Mit 42:9 war es ein ungefährdeter Start-Ziel-Sieg der Vikings. Trotz des deutlichen Scores war das Spiel über weite Strecken sehr zäh. Die körperlich starken Schweden bereiteten den Vikings einen arbeitsreichen Nachmittag. Der verdiente Sieg gründet sich einerseits auf einer erwartet starken Defenseleistung und einem Schwedischen Team, das dem variantenreichen Spiel der Vikings nur wenig entgegenzusetzen hatte. Zwar konnte die schwedische Defense die Vikings-Offense zu mehreren Punts zwingen, man war allerdings nicht in der Lage Big Plays zu verhindern. Die Offense der Gäste hatte zwar ein starkes Laufspiel, dem Quarterback der Schweden fehlten allerdings geeignete Anspielstationen. Die Receiver, allesamt schwedische Spieler, ließen sehr viele gute Bälle fallen. Allerdings muss ebenso erwähnt werden, dass die Vikings Defense neben der einen tatsächlich gemachten Interception, ebenfalls eine Reihe von Bällen nicht unter Kontrolle bringen konnte. Mann des Tages war wieder einmal RB Clinton Graham der nicht weniger als 3 TDs zum Sieg beitrug (Luke Atwood 1, Ralph Pointner 1, Roman Meklau 1) Besonders erwähnenswert der 3.Td von Graham der nicht nur über 80Yards ging, sondern damit auch der längste erlaufene TD in der Geschichte der Dodge Vikings war! Insgesamt ein verdienter Sieg, der die Vikings erneut in ein europäisches Endspiel bringt. Die Entscheidung wo dieses Spiel gespielt wird, fällt im Laufe der nächsten Tage. Aufgrund der positiven Erfahrung mit Vikings-Veranstaltungen ist ein erneutes Finale in Wien nicht unwahrscheinlich. Das Eurobowl Finale gegen Flash Paris ist am Wochenende nach der Austrian Bowl am 22. oder 23.Juli. |
